Spain is a popular place for a beach holiday. Spain has more Blue Flag beaches than anywhere else in the world and with miles and miles of coastline it is always possible to find a secluded spot to enjoy the great weather. In 2008 Spain had over 500 Blue Flag beaches with the Catalonia region boasting over 100 of these.

Most young people who come to Spain during the summer want to combine relaxed days on the beach with nights of wild partying and the Spanish territory of Ibiza has arguably the best night clubbing on the planet. Pacha, Manumission, Space and Amnesia are just some of the many vast clubs which attract revellers from all over the world as well as the very best DJs. Another great place to let your hair down is Madrid where the youth formed a Madrid movement in the 80's to exercise the frustrations of the previous decades. Try the nightclub Fortuny which was built over three floors in a beautiful old palace and has an open air terrace as well as a restaurant.
The hot weather in Spain also lends itself to golf and while the professionals come for the Spanish Open the amateurs are equally well catered to. For instance, you can have a seven night golfing holiday on the Costa de la Luz for under 370 Euros which is fully inclusive of all your accommodation and green fees. If watching golf is more preferable to you than playing in the heat you can also get cheap tickets to the Volvo match play event which takes place in Marbella annually. A three day pass could cost as little as 750 per person including your hotel accommodation.
Culturally resplendent, Spain also has the second highest number of UNESCO world heritage sights in the world after Italy. Some of the most impressive of its 41 world heritage sights are the buildings of Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona, the Alhambra palace in Granada and the historic centre of Cordoba.

In terms of natural attractions, Spain has the Altamira cave which contains Paleolithic cave paintings, the Teide national park in the Canary Islands with its huge volcano (Spain's highest peak) and the Donana Wetlands near Seville in the south west.
Extreme sports lovers will not be disappointed by Spain. There is skiing in the Pyrenees Mountains, world class climbing in Los Mallos, Aragon, windsurfing in the Canary Islands and white water rafting in Murrillo de Aragon.
